Firefly & Crew

Firefly is a cherished sailboat docked at the Raritan Yacht Club (RYC), where I, Alan Uminski, have the pleasure of serving as captain. Whether you're an experienced sailor or just curious about life on the water, we welcome crew members and guests of all ages to join us for our casual weekend sails and Wednesday night races on the beautiful Raritan Bay.

My sailing journey began with the Rutgers Sailing Team in the 1980s, where I discovered an enduring passion for the open seas. When I'm not at the helm, you'll likely find me pursuing my other favorite pastimes: exploring new geocaching spots, casting a line for the day's catch, savoring local craft beers, or enjoying fresh clams and oysters.
